Sharing the Cake

Size does not matter. We all now that this is true…or not. It all depends (as they say in my loved Galicia). In this case the music industry is shrinking. Is that true? Maybe not. What is happening is that the money is moving. The value proposition of a plastic device with 10 products (songs) bundled I am obliged to buy is no longer interesting for the customer. Instead of hearing the customer and trying to give them what they want at the price they want it and delivered the way they want it, the idea has been to create competitive advantages using the law.
We know the law is the most purest competitive advantage of all. Create a law that makes everybody give you one penny and you are 6 billion richest. Sure? No way! Many times you need the law to be respectful so people respect it. And business like iTunes demonstrated that the problem was strategy, pricing and product. Not technology, law and piracy. People is willing to pay for a song at 0.99$. The cake is not shrinking, just changing flavour
